Don't let other people's words become your reality. Cause that's just really bad fiction.
This week’s musings:
Articles: Queens of Infamy, a thread of long essays on Long Reads that discusses numerous unsung fierce queens from history. If you have a history bug, this is a rabbit hole worth exploring. My favourite so far is the essay on Anne Boleyn.
Books: Tiny Moons by Nina Mingya Powles. While learning Mandarin these days, my love for Chinese food has grown exponentially. This collection of culinary essays set in Shanghai addresses topics ranging from Chinese cuisine to belonging and certain longings.
Podcast: Clearly, I have been drenching myself in a lot of history this past week and The History Chicks Podcast is just the place to tune in. Where two women, after much investigation, introduce you to several historical women. I have been catching up with their episodes over the past few days and I would highly recommend the Statue of Liberty, Revisited episode.Â
YouTube: After a few pedantic suggestions, it's time for some laughs. Most of you have most likely seen this video. I've seen it countless times and it never fails to crack me up. It's Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal attempting to record a commercial for an exhibition and failing badly. If you're looking for a good laugh, this is the video to watch.
